Todd Crag House in Clappersgate on the outskirts of Ambleside.

Our beautiful 16th Century gentleman's residence has been sympathetically restored to provide luxurious self catering accommodation on two levels in the pretty hamlet of Clappersgate.

Guests are able to relax and enjoy the delightful mature gardens extending to 0.66 acres with lawns, shrubs  and mature fruit trees and views of the fells and Lake Windermere.  Loughrigg Fell can be accessed from the path adjacent. Todd Crag House is a tranquil retreat with busy Ambleside less than 1 mile away where you will find an array of shops, restaurants and pubs to meet all needs.

Todd Crag House occupies the upper level of this two storey stone built residence. Although this is is on the upper level access is easy. The house is built into the sloping garden. Three wide stone steps lead to the entrance door. There is ample space for 2 cars adjacent. The entrance door leads directly into the reception kitchen. The fully equipped natural oak dining kitchen with slate floor has views of the fells and garden.

The elegant and spacious lounge is beautifully furnished with deep cushioned sofas, Victorian fireplace with living flame gas fire, deep window seat, and Laura Ashley colour scheme. A 32'' flat screen digital TV and DVD player are provided.

There is, in addition a wonderful, sunny sitting/dining room with rosewood furniture and comfortable sofa situated in the large west facing bay window. This is an ideal place to quietly relax or dine in style. 

The master bedroom is fitted with Schreiber  furniture, a king size bed and window seat. There are seasonal views towards the lake. This bedroom has  a fully tiled en-suite, WC, wash basin and cubicle shower.

The second bedroom, also with king size bed is situated at the rear of the property has views of the garden and Todd Crag. In addition there is a fully tiled house bathroom having a bath (with powerful shower over), washbasin and WC.

There is a small utility room that houses the gas boiler and tumble drier situated off the centrally located hall with 'Sunpipe' natural lighting.

Lazy summer days are designed for enjoying in the delightful garden with patio furniture and benches. You will be amazed at the size of this dwelling and comfort for 4 people.

Quiet and obedient dogs are welcome.
